
Founded in 2016, Masha quality holdings limited is a coffee processing and bulk marketing Agri-SME whose main business focus is specialty coffee that is produced under the brand name” Masha Coffee.” The coffee is produced in three forms: washed, honey and natural. The enterprise works with small scale farmers in Kween, Kapchorwa and Buko Districts on a demonstration farm of 40 acres to ensure amalgamation and sale.
The Agri-SME is female-founded and led, employing majorly women. There are three directors, five board members, six technical staff led by an agronomist, and, five field officers. The company also employs 10 youth who work on the farm temporarily.
Masha-Quality Holdings Limited works with small scale farmers to amalgamate and centralize sales. The Agri-SME has registered over1000 farmers and offers agricultural extension services to all farmers digitally registered in their agricultural database to ensure steady production and quality of sourced coffee across the five buying centres.
The Agri-SME looks at three sustainable development goals: No poverty, Gender equality and Economic growth. Its main goal as an SME is to improve community livelihoods through coffee farming while facilitating women empowerment and over the last years, the farmers that it has worked with have directly seen a difference in terms of income growth got from the coffee that they bring to us for processing.
It also advocates for economic growth by using the coffee to make sure that people benefit from it, that way, children are able to go through school, get employment after, farmers get income from their coffee and this in the long run boasts the economy.
The enterprise joined the Women in Agriculture Impact Investment (WAII) Facility in 2022 when the call for applications was rolled out. It is among the 16 Agri-SMEs that were selected for the first investment advisory cycle. Finding XY established the Women in Agriculture Impact Investment (WAII) Facility to accelerate early growth stage of SMEs investment using a blend of instruments and a gender lens approach through bridge financing cover and loan-discount approach using Covid relief investment support.
