Incorporated in 2014, Farm Uganda Limited deals in grain processing, livestock feeds, marketing, commercial farming and adding value to maize, cassava, white sorghum, barley and other agricultural commodities like soya bean. The farm is also into tractor hire to community members.
The Agri-SME supports small-holder farmers through forward contracting to grow maize, sorghum and cassava. It then guarantees market for the raw materials produced by adding value to produce high quality cassava and Maize flours, clean white sorghum and livestock feeds transformed from the by- products of cassava (cassava peels) and Maize (Maize bran). Farm Uganda acts as an off taker of raw materials produced and subsequent supply them to the composite and regional markets.
The business is located in Kinyara 1, Kigumba Town council, Kiryandongo District where they have a field office and the cassava value addition plant. However, the main office and maize milling facility are located in Kampala on Martyrs mall in Kira Division and Namulondo road in Bweyogerere respectively. The Agri-SME sources its products from Kiryandongo, Masindi, Nwoya, Nakasongola and Apach districts, and are also working in Kiryandongo refugee camp.
The company operates a 100 acre farm and is championing mechanized agriculture in the community with its fleet of Deutz Fahr tractors and their implements. On-going agricultural projects include Goats, a Banana Plantation, Local chicken, Maize, Soybean and beans which is still limited to primary production.
